Volunteer with CURO at WHYY Studios

CURO will be the spotlight group on WHYY Radio during their Spring Membership Drive on April 2nd!

Are you retired? Free on Tuesdays? Do you have a few hours to lend a hand and a friendly voice? We could put your social skills to good use at WHYY's Spring Membership Drive, answering calls and taking pledges from listeners who want to support the great programing offered by the public media station. This will be a fun way to get to know some new people while giving back to our community. Dinner will be provided as well.

Thanks to a Haverford grad Rebecca Laureanna Fisher, you can now take a tour that unearths the history of Philly’s most badass women — “cool colonial women, change makers, sex workers and more” through Beyond the Bell Tours.

PROJECT Build-A-Sweet-Case Event for Foster Children

Did you know that everyday at least 1200 kids in the United States enter foster care?

Currently, there are about 400,000 in America's foster care system. They are typically given trash bags to gather their few worldly possessions and then are sent to a foster home.

Help us support these kids by providing new, personalized duffel bags called Sweet Cases, filled with teddy bears, blankets, hygiene kits and more to show them they matter!

Workshop in Capturing Nature's Beauty through Eco-Printing

Eco-Printing is the process of embedding botanical “stamps” directly from plant material.

Working with natural elements such as leaves, blossoms, berries, eucalyptus, flower petals, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and bark, collected from your own garden and all around you, each artist will create a naturally made silk scarf or cotton bandanna.  The “images” and color that will be embodied within the fabric will reflect the actual color that the plant material transfers.
